I am a vocalist trained in Hindustani classical music, and over the years my journey has taken me across classical, semi-classical, and experimental forms. Born in Allahabad to parents who were teachers and lovers of the arts, I discovered music early and later trained with several distinguished gurus who shaped my understanding of the tradition. Since the 1980s, I have performed widely, composed for diverse projects, and collaborated across genres. Along with my husband, Aneesh Pradhan, I also work to support independent musicians and document India’s rich musical heritage through digital platforms and educational initiatives.
